An easy recipe with simple ingredients produced a confection that, after one bite, dethroned our family\u2019s long-revered celebration cake. I dubbed it a \u201challeluyum moment.\u201d This was a recipe epiphany I wanted to share with everybody.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, I didn\u2019t realize how much of a life-changer Black Magic Cake would become. It turned into a wedding cake\u2014twice. As if the joy of their marriages weren\u2019t enough, our son and daughter asked me to make the cakes that they would ceremonially smear over their spouses\u2019 faces. As I said at the time, I couldn\u2019t have been happier if they had proclaimed \u201cI love you, Mom\u201d on the Fenway Park Jumbotron.
