I get out a bowl and whisk up this quick and creamy microwave chocolate pudding without adding a single degree to the house.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/test.recipephany.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/hersheyscocoa1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"180\" height=\"245\" src=\"http:\/\/test.recipephany.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/hersheyscocoa1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-632\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">We use 5-lb bags.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Essentially guilt-free (except for the sugar), it can also be guilt-optional, letting you choose whether or not to add all the butter or top with whipped cream. It tastes rich using skim milk, and, unlike many puddings, has no egg yolks to sabotage your summertime shape. There\u2019s no saucepan to scrub\u2014you can cook it right in the serving bowl\u2014so in some small way you\u2019re doing your part to conserve water during the drought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But most important, there\u2019s no sweating over a hot stove. In fact, there\u2019s no sweating at all, since it\u2019s as easy as directions on the back of a My-T-Fine box. For this reason, what began as a summertime recipephany (adapted from <em>The Hershey\u2019s Chocolate Treasury<\/em>) is now my go-to recipe for a quick chocolate fix any time.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Quick and Creamy Microwave Chocolate Pudding<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:post-content --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2\/3 cup sugar (can adjust to taste)<\/li>\n<li>3\/8 cup cocoa (can adjust to taste) (Hershey&#8217;s Regular or Special Dark for smoother and deeper flavor)<\/li>\n<li>3 tablespoons cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n<li>2 1\/4 cups milk (can add a little more if you add more cocoa)<\/li>\n<li>2 tablespoons butter or margarine<\/li>\n<li>2 teaspoons vanilla<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Combine sugar, cocoa, cornstarch and salt in a medium micro-proof bowl, and gradually sir in milk.
