This super-easy, creamy, high-protein chocolate mousse can satisfy your sweet tooth\u2014and the rest of your body as well. The secret? Full-fat cottage cheese whipped until smooth, airy and much sexier than its original curdy self.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Top off your meal with a one-half cup serving of this chocolate mousse and you\u2019ll add at least 14 grams of complete protein to your daily tally. That\u2019s like two eggs. Granted, it has more calories than two eggs (about 90 more), but hey, it\u2019s a chocolate dessert for goodness sake. And compared to a \u201chigh-protein Pop-Tart,\u201d it\u2019s a powerhouse\u2014with about 40 percent more protein and 30 percent fewer calories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Besides, no Pop-Tart could ever finish off a fine meal as well as this elegant mousse. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">High-Protein Chocolate Mousse<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Makes two servings<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped, or chocolate chips<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 cup full-fat cottage cheese (8 ounces)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup, or more to taste<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 teaspoons vanilla<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grated or chopped chocolate for garnish (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fresh berries for garnish (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In a small bowl, microwave chocolate in 30-second zaps, stirring after each, until melted and smooth (about 90 seconds total). Let cool slightly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Using a small food processor or blender, whip cottage cheese until very smooth and light. Add chocolate, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla. Blend, scraping down sides of bowl as needed. Taste for sweetness and add more if you want. Pour into an airtight container and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 1 hour and up to 3 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Serve in custard cups or glasses.
